Westside Unitarian Universalist Congregation Children and Youth Bulletin, February 13th, 2011

This week we'll have regular age group classes for all ages.

Our nursery and Story time nursery will have fun with their regular care providers in their regular spaces.

The Spirit Play class will have a work day with plenty of time to use lots of our great materials.

Our K-1 class will learn about making a difference and hear a great

The 2nd and 3rd grade class explores the idea of believing in
yourself, and hears the story of Lewis Latimer. For more information

Our 4th and 5th grade class will try to solve the mystery with a "real
life" crime scene from the story of Cain and Abel. They'll see this
video


The Middle School group will have a scavenger hunt through the bible,
a fun way to familiarize themselves with how the bible is formatted,
and to begin to understand how it came to be that it is a cornerstone
of some people's faith. For more information on why UUs study the

We do have 7th and 8th grade Our Whole Lives at 5pm (topic--
contraception) followed by youth dinner at 6:30 provided by the Ehret
family with a youth group meeting for 6th-`12 graders at 7 PM.

Upcoming Events

TOMORROW! WSUU families of 2nd-5th graders, you are invited to a
family potluck supper this
Sat, Feb 12, from 5:30-7:30 pm in the social hall. It's an opportunity
for parents and kids in our elementary classes to get to know each other over a shared meal.
Bring a potluck dish, your own beverages, and maybe a game your family likes
to play (especially a movement and/or cooperative game). We'd be grateful for
your help with set-up or clean-up. Kids of all ages are welcome!

February 24th 5pm--Teen feed at Orion Center (http://www.youthcare.org/
index.php/services/orion) Contact Kari (dre@wsuu.org) if you are
interested in volunteering. To accommodate our many families, you may
only be able to serve every other month. Appropriate for children who
can really cook and clean, but not for young kids.
